Summary

THE ELABORATION OF A MODEL TO SIMULATE THE DEFROSTING CYCLE OF AN AIR COOLER. IT IS SHOWN THAT UNDER SPECIFIC DEFROSTING CONDITIONS, THE REFRIGERATING CAPACITY OF THE COOLER MAINTAINS ITS OPTIMUM, THUS ENABLING THE DETERMINATION OF THE OPTIMAL TIME THE COOLER TAKES TO FROST UP, FOLLOWING WHICH THE DEFROSTING PROCESS IS ACTIVATED. THE RESULTS OF THE ANALYSIS REVEAL THAT SEVERAL RESERVES COME INTO THE RATIONALISATION OF AIR COOLER OPERATION.
