Ravenna cogeneration plant repowering project.
Author(s) : GENTILI M.
Summary
The Enichem Cogeneration Plant of Ravenna went into operation in 1957. Its task is to supply steam and electric energy to the integrated industrial site of chemical and petrochemical productions. The plant is composed of four parallel units for a production capacity of 1260 t/h of high pressure steam and 167 MW. New technical, economical and political conditions have brought about the development of a project of repowering with new gas turbines and heat recovery steam generators. By maintaining the same levels of reliability and availability, it is possible to increase the electric production with a lower heat rate.
