CHP in Sweden including the Stockholm Vaertan PFBC plant.

Author(s) : JANSSON S. A.

Summary

District heating is extensively used in Sweden. CHP, however, is not so widely used. This a result of the ready access of low cost electricity from hydroelectric and nuclear power plants. Two case studies which illustrate recent developments are presented, i.e., Stockholm Energi's production facilities including its Vaertan PFBC plant, and Linkoeping Public Power Corporation and its Gaerstad plant.
