Summary

LUMINESCENCE STUDIES OF THE SUPERCONDUCTOR TEMPERATURE BEHAVIOUR ARE CARRIED OUT WHEN EXCITING THE SAMPLE WITH ELECTRON BEAM. ISOLATED IN THE EMISSION SPECTRUM ARE NARROW-BAND PEAKS AT 3.3 ELECTRONVOLTS AND WIDE-BAND MAXIMA IN THE VICINITY OF 3.1 AND 2.5 ELECTRONVOLTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE OXYGEN-COPPER SUBSYSTEM. IT IS FOUND THAT AT TRANSITION TEMPERATURE THE EMISSION SPECTRUM IS REARRANGED: THE NARROW-BAND PEAKS ARE ABRUPTLY SUPPRESSED, THE INTENSITY IN 2.6 ELECTRONVOLTS BAND IS ENHANCED AND THE ATOMIC LINES OF NEUTRAL OXYGEN BRIGHTEN.
