Recent progress with the Metrology Institute "G. Colonnetti" helium 3 gas thermometer.

Author(s) : STEUR P. P. M., PAVESE F.

Summary

The International Temperature Scale of 1990 indicates the Interpolating Constant Volume Gas Thermometer as the interpolating device within the temperature range 3 to 24.6 K. One of the crucial requirements for such an interpolating gas thermometer to operate correctly is the stability of the temperature distribution along the pressure measuring line that connects the gas thermometer bulb with the measuring equipment at room temperature. At the Metrology Institute "G. Colonnetti" experiments are being carried out, as part of its helium 3 gas thermometer project, to measure this stability.
