Recent trends of absorption chiller-heaters.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The number of absorption chiller-heaters manufactured in Japan increased by 10% in 1994. Large models of 2,000 ton and over are being used for district heating-cooling systems while many smaller units are installed for commercial air-conditioning as a substitute for CFC vapour compression plants. Japanese energy policy encourages the use of gas firing. A national project in 1995 was the development of household size units which are being subjected to field testing. D.W.H.
