How to choose a heat pump system: application of the "analytic hierarchy process" selection method.

Type of article: Article
Summary
When designers considered how a heat pump using river water could supply a district heating and cooling system in Tokyo, they were faced with a number of options. And for every option, there were both merits and drawbacks. To help them make the right choice, they employed a selection methodology known as the "analytic hierarchy process". The article shows how this approach led to a successful outcome for Japan's first river-source heat pump.
