Type of article: Article

Summary

Pumps to handle low-boiling liquids at close to their boiling point call for a highly demanding design in regard to necessary net positive suction head, heat generation on the piston rings and rod packings, thermal insulation, and masses to be cooled down prior to startup. The chief fields of application and specialized duties are mentioned. A special design for very low temperatures is also described.
