[In German. / En allemand.]

Type of article: Article
Summary
The report gives a small survey about the national and international reefer shipping development. It contains data about the number and size of the reefer vessels, the flag status today and the historical pioneer-work in tables. The first engine-refrigerated cargoes were carried by sea in 1876-1877, when meat was shipped from Argentina to Europe. The next step was the refrigerated banana shipment with circulation cooling from Jamaica to England in 1896-1897.
