Summary

The author discusses the possibility of implementing the European Commission decisions on phasing out CFC production. He refers to ICARMA proposals and to the recommendations of a "refrigerant recovery and recycling" Commission set up by the "refrigerants and environment" Commission in the framework of ANEFRYC. Refrigerant recycling should make it possible to keep in operation refrigerating plants using CFCs after the production of such refrigerants has stopped. The author also discusses some statements concerning the link between CFC use, the greenhouse effect and the destruction of ozone layer. He recommends that the Spanish government keeps in close contact with the users of refrigeration and their professional organizations. J.G.
