Summary
At this biennial truck show, silent transport refrigeration drew much attention. Three American CO2 systems are being tested under European conditions. The traction engine as power source for the reefer unit via hydraulic or hydroelectric coupling also facilitates more silent and energy efficient transport refrigeration. Quality monitoring of the large number of refrigeration units used for small delivery vans, as well as of the drivers' practices, is unclear. To complete the cold chain, insulated or refrigerated minicontainers have not yet reached a prominent position.
