Author(s) : LORENTZEN G.

Summary

ANNUAL INVESTMENTS IN REFRIGERATING MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT CAN APPROXIMATE TO 100 BILLION US DOLLARS. THE VALUE OF THE PRODUCTS WHICH ARE PROCESSED USING REFRIGERATION TECHNIQUES IS EVEN HIGHER. THESE TECHNIQUES ARE ESSENTIAL FOR SOLVING 2 MAIN PROBLEMS OF THE FUTURE: THE SUPPLY OF FOODSTUFFS IN SUFFICIENT QUANTITIES AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW ENERGY SOURCES. IN THE THIRD WORLD, REFRIGERATION IS MAINLY USED WITH THE VIEW TO EXPORTING EXPENSIVE PRODUCTS AND IS RESERVED TO THE UPPER CLASSES.
