Research on exhaust heat utilisation system for packaged type gas engine-driven heat pump.

Summary

A new Gas engine-driven Heat Pump (GHP) which utilizes exhaust heat from gas engine to provide dehumidification and efficient heating operation was tested in a laboratory. The indoor unit is equipped with a refrigerant heat exchanger and a hot water heat exchanger where cooling water from the engine is supplied. With the effect of the hot water heat exchanger, re-heat dehumidification operation showed good performance. In addition, efficiency in the heating operation improved so much that the COP attained 1.6, while that of a conventional GHP is 1.1.
