Summary
The common technologies and purification methods of natural gas have been compared and summarized. The authors find that adsorption methods are almost not affected by the parameters such as gas temperature, mass flow rate and gas pressure, etc., thereby, they are more suitable for the purification process of LNG-FPSO, taking into account the offshore natural gas resource and the formidable offshore environment condition. In this paper, the authors analyse and compare different kinds of adsorbents and conclude that 4A molecular sieve is the first choice for the dehydration and 13X molecular sieve is the best for deacidification of natural gas. The two types of adsorbents should be given more attention in the development of LNG-FPSO purification technologies.
