This report is part of the work of the IEA Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems (ECBCS) Programme. The contents include: review of European passive ventilation methods; alternative passive ventilation options; analytical methods: simulation and design; a first-order design method based on loop equations; North American construction and dwelling codes. Additional design examples are given in the appendix. This report is included in the AIVC CD-ROM (see this Bulletin, reference 2003 - 1082).
