Summary
The aim of the experiment was to find areas and equipment likely to encourage the biological development and induce microbial pollution in air-conditioning plant. Three sites were regularly monitored. Sampling and aeromicrobiological analysis were made at the municipal laboratory in Bordeaux, France, by sedimentation and impaction methods. The results, established over a 6 year period, help to define the equipment maintenance conditions and the method of biological control. The authors propose a standard for the quality of supplied air which ensures that the air conditioning plant is healthy.
