Summary
The compressor was developed for use in the thermostatisation system of a robot explorer used in nuclear power plants after accidents. The compressor must have a service life of at least 5000 h in the following conditions: refrigerating capacity of 700 W, ambient temperature of 60 deg C, effect of the gamma radiation dose of 10 degrees R, and rolling and pitching of plus or minus 45 degrees. The refrigerating capacity is specified for an evaporation temperature of 15 deg and a condensation temperature of 70 deg C. The refrigerant fluid used is resistant to radiation (C318). The compressor design is described and the technical features of the compressor and electric motor are presented. C.C.
