Presents the results of an investigation for the Dutch dairy industry of the potential for long-term cold energy storage in the ground. The research was based on existing dairies. Compares cold energy storage with cooling by a modern installation with compression refrigeration equipment and cooling towers. Finds that the application of cold energy storage promises to be very profitable.
