Simulation of high temperature heat pump performance.

Number: 1121

Author(s) : LUND T.

Summary

High Temperature Heat Pumps have yet to settle into a common practice of which systems and refrigerants to use. Thus, simulations of relevant system configurations, refrigerants, and operating conditions have been performed to allow a comparison of the system performances, with the aim to provide a pointer to which systems/refrigerant combinations are relevant in a given situation. The simulation is performed with real component performance where possible and with complex models where not, aiming at describing the real operation, including compressor envelopes, discharge temperatures, etc. Finally, a suggestion for expanding these performance data into a TCO is provided, allowing for a rating of the different solutions on an economic level.
