Summary

The model is able to simulate the behaviour of an hermetic reciprocating compressor. The outlet data are calculated from the inlet data by four equations. Different parameters are included in these relations which are specific for the compressor and the operating range. The proposed model has been validated for three types of compressor of different brands in a large field of operation. The maximum differences between experimental and calculated data are not above 5 K for the discharge temperatures, 7% for the volume ratio and heat loss. The developed model can be directly integrated into the TRNSYS software.
