Summary

THE INFLUENCE OF THE REFRIGERANT CHARGE OF A FLOODED TYPE MULTITUBULAR SHELL EVAPORATOR ON THE THERMODYNAMIC PERFORMANCES OF THE DEVICE, BY USING A CORRECTION COEFFICIENT, IS CONSIDERED. THIS COEFFICIENT TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE VARIATION OF THE MEAN SURFACE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT OF THE REFRIGERANT AS A FUNCTION OF THE DEVICE CHARGE. EXPERIMENTS MADE IT POSSIBLE TO ESTABLISH THAT THIS COEFFICIENT IS LINEARLY RELATED TO THE VAPOUR SUPERHEAT. THE ERROR OF THIS APPROXIMATION IN THE RANGE OF SUPERHEAT TEMPERATURE FROM 275 TO 283 K (2 TO 10 DEG C) DOES NOT EXCEED 10%.
