Summary

The chillers are usually loaded partly in the most of running times, and with the development of variable frequency technology, more and more variable-frequency compressors and pumps are used in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. The steady-state model of the refrigeration cycle is built in this paper, in which the RKS equation is used to calculate the thermophysical parameters accurately. The results show that the influences of constant or variable water flow to the evaporating temperature are little when the chiller is loaded partly, but the condensing temperature decreases in different degrees. The power consumption proportion of the cooling water pump in the chiller should be considered in evaluating energy-saving effect of constant or variable water flow. The higher the proportion, the better the effect of energy-saving of variable water flow system.
