Solid sorption machine using a thermosiphon heat exchanger.
Author(s) : KANONCHIK L. E.
Summary
The paper presents results obtained for a solid sorption heat pump using a thermosiphon heat exchanger and an adsorbed natural gas storage vessel. A two-adsorber experimental device with 2 kW hot output was designed and studied. Ammonia and new adsorbents such as recently developed compressed active carbon fibres were used in the cylindrical adsorbers of gas fired-heat pumps. Numerical analysis based on the 2-D non-equilibrium model of heat and mass transfer processes in the porous cylinder was carried out in order to investigate and optimize the sorption bed adsorber.
