Summary
Combination of district cooling networks with cool stores is in several cases more economical than the application of individual cooling equipment. Two main types of district cooling systems are decentralized systems where cooling is performed by cooling equipment coupled at the consumer's link to the network, and centralized ones where cooling is performed at the center of the network. These types of district cooling networks are discussed. The costs of district cooling and individual cooling are compared, and some existing systems abroad are evaluated.
