THE STABILITY OF R134A AND POLYALKYLENE GLYCOLS (PAG), WHICH ARE THE LEADING CANDIDATES FOR LUBRICATION IS DISCUSSED BY USING SEALED GLASS TUBES. GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY IS USED IN ORDER TO KNOW THE DECOMPOSITION MECHANISM OF R134A-PAG MIXTURES. THE HEAT RESISTANCE OF PAG IS STUDIED. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LUBRICATION IS TESTED. THE EFFECT OF WATER ON LUBRICATION IS DISCUSSED. THE COMPATIBILITY OF THE R134A-PAG MIXTURES WITH MAGNETIC WIRE IS DISCUSSED BY AUTOCLAVE METHOD AND COMPATIBILITY WITH INSULATION FILM IS ALSO DISCUSSED.
