A GROWTH OF 16 PERCENT IN SALES OF FROZEN FOODS TOOK PLACE IN 1981. NO SINGLE REASON CAN ACCOUNT FOR A LARGE INCREASE. SALES OF FREEZERS INCREASED, FIVE PERCENT MORE HOUSEHOLDS ACQUIRED ONE. MORE OF THE MEDIUM AND LARGER PACKS OF FROZEN VEGETABLES WERE PURCHASED. HOUSEWIVES ARE USING MORE FROZEN FOODS, VEGETABLES, FISH, MEAT, FOR FEEDING THE FAMILY DURING THE WEEK. THE HARVEST OF FRESH VEGETABLES IN THE EARLY PART OF THE YEAR WAS BELOW AVERAGE. SALES OF READY PREPARED MEALS DECLINED. C.R.F.
