SOME WAYS OF IMPROVEMENT OF 10 KW-300 KW RECIPROCATING REFRIGERANT COMPRESSOR PERFORMANCE.

Author(s) : BYKOV A., KALNIN I., TSIRLIN B.

Summary

THIS PAPER COVERS THE IMPROVEMENT OF RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS. FOR R12 AND R22 COMPRESSORS USED IN AIR CONDITIONING, THE MOST IMPORTANT LOSSES DEPEND ON VALVE RESISTANCE. IN AMMONIA COMPRESSORS, WHERE THE CHARACTERISTICS ARE STRONGLY AFFECTED BY INTERNAL HEAT EXCHANGE, AT UP TO 25 REV PER SECOND, LOSSES THROUGH VALVES REACH SIGNIFICANT VALUES. THE REQUIREMENT OF INCREASING THE VALVE PATH CONTRASTS WITH THEIR ENDURANCE. FOR ANNULAR SUCTION VALVES AT THE LEVEL OF THE EXTERNAL DIAMETER OF THE CYLINDER, THIS PROBLEM CAN BE SOLVED BY THE OPTIMISATION OF THE CYLINDER DIAMETER, OF THE PISTON STROKE AND OF THE NUMBER OF CYLINDERS. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO INCREASE THE RATIO OF PISTON STROKE TO CYLINDER DIAMETER.
