Summary

TO OBTAIN THE SPATIAL MAPPING OF A MAGNETIC SOURCE, IT IS NECESSARY TO MEASURE THE INTENSITY AND DIRECTION OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD. IN THE PAST IT HAS BEEN DIFFICULT TO MAKE THESE MEASUREMENTS BECAUSE THE MAGNETIC FIELD IS VERY WEAK BUT SQUID HAS NOW MADE THIS POSSIBLE. THE PRESENT SITUATION IN DC-SQUID TECHNOLOGY AND ITS APPLICATIONS ARE DISCUSSED.
