Summary

The hybrid type synthetic lubricant (Hybrid-SL), a 100% alpha branched molecular structure, was presented at the International Symposium on HCFC Alternative Refrigerants '96. Ever since this symposium, the authors have collected data to show how Hybrid-SL's solubility with HFC refrigerants, chemical, thermal and hydrolytic stability and other properties are superior to those of the conventional POE. In the paper, the authors provided additional data on Hybrid-SL for HFC application on practicality and reliability through lab and compressor endurance test results.
