Standard Reference Materials (SRM) Catalog.
Author(s) : NIST, THOMAS J. W. L., BRANDEN Y. A., HOWARD R. D.
Type of monograph: Other
Summary
This catalogue lists over 1300 individual reference materials produced and sold by NIST, each with carefully assigned values for chemical composition and physical properties. SRMs find use in calibrating instruments and in assuring the long-term integrity of quality assurance programmes. They are also key mechanisms for verifying important measurement results and in developing new measurement methods. Extract from the table of contents: engineering materials; food and agriculture; health and clinical; environmental; high purity materials; industrial materials; physical properties (thermodynamic properties: enthalpy and heat capacity; defining fixed points; international temperature scale of 1990; freezing point; melting point; thermal expansion of metal and glass; thermal resistance of glass, silica and polystyrene; thermocouple material, platinum; superconducting critical current); radioactivity; industrial hygiene.
