TRADITIONAL METHODS LIKE ICE STORAGE IN CEMENT RESERVOIRS OR AMMONIA COOLING SYSTEMS FOR MANUFACTURING PROCESSES AREBEING REPLACED BY MORE SOPHISTICATED DEVICES IN THE FORM OF MECHANICAL ICE MAKERS OR ICE-ON-COILS SYSTEMS. ALSO EUTECTIC SALT STORAGE USING LATENT HEAT PHASE CHANGING MATERIALS IS MAKING COLD STORAGE EFFECTIVE AND LESS CUMBERSOME THAN TRADITIONAL METHODS. ADVANTAGES ARE: SYSTEMS USING LOWER POWER INPUT, RATIONAL AND ECONOMICAL OPERATING METHODS AND INCREASED OVERALL RELIABILITY.
