Summary

In order to meet the needs of clinical applications, the methods of trachea cryopreservation and transplantation are studied. Evaluation by electron microscopy shows that the ultrastructure of cryopreserved tracheae is very similar to that of the fresh one, and the cilia have normal function. Transplantation studies show that 80% (17/20) of dogs survived. Two cases of human transplantation with cryopreserved tracheae were successful.
