Summary
Results are presented of a study on a compressor without connecting rods and without cylinder lubrication, which uses R22. Its operation with ammonia was presented in previous articles. Tests have showed that its volumetric efficiencies are higher by 10 to 12 % and its energy efficiencies by 2 to 3 % compared with current compressors. Because there is no oil in the thermal-exchange equipment, the COP of the refrigerating machine increases by an average of 12 %.
