Summary

THE OBJECT OF THE RESEARCH WAS A HERMETIC RECIPROCATING REFRIGERATOR COMPRESSOR WITH A PISTON DISPLACEMENT OF 6 CM3. TESTS WERE DONE ON THE MISCIBILITY OF VARIOUS OILS WITH R134A, ON THE DEPENDENCY OF THE DISCHARGE COEFFICIENTS AND THE ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE ON THE DEGREE OF PRESSURE RISE FOR R12 AND R134A, AND ON THE LOSSES IN INDICATED POWER. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT R134A CAN BE USED IN HIGH-AND MEDIUM-TEMPERATURE SMALL REFRIGERATING MACHINES WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATION OF THE HERMETIC RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR. A COMPRESSOR OIL MUST THEN BE USED THAT NOT ONLY MIXES WELL WITH R134A BUT ALSO HAS A VISCOSITY AS GREAT AS THE MINERAL OIL HF 12-16. M. C.
