Summary

Considering the bad status quo of indoor air quality (IAQ) and thermal comfort in air-conditioned passenger cars, the paper analyzes the relative influential factors and proposes some improved advice. Personal air supply system is presented to improve IAQ and thermal comfort in sleeper carriage on the basis of energy saving and individual request. The 3-D airflow distribution in passenger compartment is numerically calculated. The research is expected to lay the foundation for the establishment of the more comfortable environment in the air conditioned passenger cars.
