Study of soluble lubricants in ammonia. 2. Lubricating and operational tests of ammonia-soluble oils.
[In German. / En allemand.]
Author(s) : LIPPOLD H., REINHOLD S.
Type of article: Article
Summary
All oils tested were found to have good lubricating qualities. Machine tests showed however, that the oils could not withstand extended operation at 160 deg C. Stability of the ammonia-polyglycol system was particularly insufficient with moist oil. The use of additives could improve oxidation stability.
