Summary

A numerical analysis was carried out to examine the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of a plate heat exchanger for absorption application using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques. The velocity of fluid and pressure drop are investigated. Geometric condition of plate exchangers was port size 25 mm, channel plates area 34,65 mm2. The main operating conditions in plate heat exchanger, were taken from various flow rates (from 3 to 15 kg/m2s). The optimum flow patterns were presented with a variation of the pressure drop.
