Summary
In order to overcome the shortages of traditional technologies of energy storage, such as low storage density, complex system, short storage time, new energy storage technology named potential energy storage, based on the process of liquid dehumidifying and the idea of energy transformation, is proposed. Research results indicate that the new technology has many distinctive advantages. The storage density of working fluid is much higher, the storage devices are simple, and liquid dehumidifying potential energy can be stored for a long time. It is a new method to utilize the intermittent energy and low-grade energy, such as solar energy, industrial waste heat, etc. In the summary, potential energy storage technology is the supplement and development of existing energy storage methods. This method is a completely new way of achieving energy storage, and it has great potential and wide applications.
