Summary

The passive rhythmic air conditioning system makes a passive temperature change once or twice an hour stopping the air conditioning equipment in a few minutes. It is one of the most effective energy conservation methods. Results showed that there was no difference in thermal comfort between this system and an ordinary (constant temperature control) system, when the temperature is 24 deg C. When adding clothes to persons, thermal and comfort sensations improved. When the cooling load in winter is increased, passive temperature change should also be accepted.
