Summary
Akebia trifoliate fruit is a traditional wild fruit rich in nutrients and has a milky white pulp that is fragrant and sweet, but which rots and deteriorates readily. Results of a study on the respiration physiology and the suitable storage conditions for A. trifoliate fruit by controlling the oxygen concentration to approximately 3%, soaking the fruits in 0.2% Na2SO3 solution, and adjusting the environmental temperature to about 7 °C, showed that it is a type of climacteric fruit that could be stored for a long time.
