Summary

THE USE OF THE FIXED AND FROZEN TISSUE MADE IT POSSIBLE TO DETECT STEROIDS AND PEPTIDES AT THE LEVEL OF THEIR TARGET-CELLS BY IMMUNOCYTOCHEMISTRY, WITH THE ELECTRONIC MICROSCOPE ON ULTRAFINE SECTIONS OBTAINED BY CRYO-ULTRAMICROTOMY. THE ENDOGENOUS SUBSTANCES DETECTED IN THIS WAY WOULD BE FIXED ON A BINDING SITE PRESENTING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE RECEPTOR PROPER TO EACH SUBSTANCE (TESTOSTERONE, OESTRADIOL, PROGESTERONE, GONADOLIBERINE). WITH THIS PROCEDURE, THE OESTRADIOL RECEPTOR WAS VISUALISED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE TARGET-CELLS OF OESTRADIOL, ITS TRANSLOCATION FROM THE CYTOPLASM TO THE NUCLEUS WAS OBSERVED TOO. (Bull.
