Summary

The paper reports the different ways to subcool the liquid refrigerant before expansion, either with liquid injection at medium pressure or with the help of a district cold source such as auxiliary refrigerant loops. These systems are specially investigated to find out the best performances that can be expected, with the refrigerants R410A and R404A, in terms of COP and refrigerating capacity.
