Summary

Report on the conversion operations in a chlorine liquefaction plant of a French factory. The characteristics of the centrifugal compressor (1200 kilowatts), and every necessary operation for conversion from R12 to R134a (R12 operation analysis, draining and washing of the original mineral oil, replacement of the compressor fittings, recovery of the R12 load, polyolester and R134a loads. The new operation (numerous calculated parameters, including the sensitive mechanisms of the compressor). The excellent results are commented. J.R.
