Summary

The book includes the papers presented during the fourth annual International Industrial Symposium on the SuperCollider, "IISSC", held in March 1992. The theme, which was "SSC, discovering the future", was chosen in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of Columbus' voyage of discovery and the relationship of the SSC with discovery. The 150 papers presented were concerned with superconductors for the SSC, environment, safety and health, magnets, detectors, cryogenics, the Superconducting Super Collider Laboratory, quality insurance, SSC dipoles, technology transfer, accelerators, the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, etc.
