Summary

MAGNETIZATION MEASUREMENTS AT 77 KON THESE SUPERCONDUCTING MATERIALS PREPARED BY A MODIFIED SINTERING PROCESS HAVE REVEALED SMALL HYSTERESIS LOOPS IN WEAK FIELDS BELOW 5 MILLITESLA. THE SIZES OF THESE LOOPS SEEM TO BE IN A MARKED CORRELATION WITH CRITICAL CURRENT DENSITIES AT ZERO FIELD, WHICH MAY BE ACCOUNTED FOR IN TERMS OF MACROSCOPIC FLUX TRAPPING IN NORMAL CONDUCTING GRAINS AND/OR VOIDS BY DESTROYING WEAK COUPLING AT GRAIN INTERFACES.
