Summary

One of the most promising applications of superconductivity in electrotechnology is the incident current limiter. The main attraction of this device is in its ability to supply a constant electricity feed by satisfactorily connecting existing links. The transition inself from the superconducting state to a resistive state can be used to construct a variable impedance. This function is used for limiting the currents of short circuits, the level of which depends on the degree of interconnection.
