Summary

THE EFFECT OF INDIUM ADDITION ON THE SUPERCONDUCTING PROPERTIES OF VANADIUM-GALLIUM MULTIFILAMENTARY SUPERCONDUCTORS HAS BEEN INVESTIGATED. THE CRITICAL TEMPERATURE AND THE CRITICAL FIELD ARE NEARLY INDEPENDENT OF INDIUM CONTENT. THE OBSERVED GAIN IN CRITICAL CURRENT OF UP TO 100% IS DUE TO A RISE IN BOTH CRITICAL CURRENT DENSITY AND THE THICKNESS OF THE VANADIUM-GALLIUM LAYER.
