Superconducting wire contact to niobium thin films.
Author(s) : LEUTHOLD A. C., WAKAI R. T.
Type of article: Article
Summary
One drawback of niobium is the difficulty in forming superconducting contacts due to a hard oxide layer that forms on its surface. The authors describe a simple technique for forming more durable superconducting solder contacts through addition of tin to the solder alloy.
