Summary
Test results are presented concerning the surface heat transfer to the ammonia-oil XA-30 mixture in a plate coil with 4 tubes at various evaporation temperatures, mass concentrations and mass flow rates. The test rig is described. It is shown that the surface heat transfer to the mixture is 5 to 10 times lower than that for pure ammonia. Empirical formulae are given, for calculating local and mean surface heat-transfer coefficients, as well as pressure drops in the coil. C.C.
