THIS SURVEY COVERS THE SAFETY ASPECTS OF A SAMPLE OF RECENTLY INSTALLED PLANTS. ITS CONCLUSIONS ARE THAT SAFETY IS THE LAST CONSIDERATION OF OPERATING OR INSTALLING COMPANIES AND THAT THE REFRIGERATION INDUSTRY DOES NOT WORK TO ITS OWN STANDARDS. A SIDE COMMENT OF THE SURVEY WAS THAT MANY PLANTS ARE INSTALLED WITH MAJOR OPERATING DEFECTS, SOME HAZARDOUS. ALSO THAT FEW FIRMS PRODUCE PIPE INSTALLATION DRAWINGS OR EVEN FLOW DIAGRAMS. D.W.H.
